Karl A. Roessner
As Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Executive Committee, Mr. Roessner sets the vision and strategic direction for the Company. He is also a member of the Board of Directors and is President of E*TRADE Bank, as well as a member of its Board of Directors.
Prior to his appointment as CEO, Mr. Roessner served as General Counsel for E*TRADE Financial for more than seven years, overseeing all compliance and regulatory functions for the Company and its bank and brokerage subsidiaries. During that time, he also served as the Corporate Secretary to the Company's Board of Directors.
Prior to joining E*TRADE, he was a partner in the Corporate Practice group of Clifford Chance US LLP, one of the world's leading law firms. There, he advised clients on negotiated public and private transactions, management and leveraged buyouts, capital raising activities, and corporate governance matters.
Mr. Roessner earned his BA cum laude from Siena College and his JD cum laude from St. Johns University School of Law, where he was a member of the St. John’s University Law Review.
Paul W. Brandow
As Chief Risk Officer, Paul Brandow oversees E*TRADE’s Enterprise Risk Management function, as well as the Anti-Money Laundering and Compliance functions.
Prior to this role, Mr. Brandow served E*TRADE in several leadership positions since joining the Company in 2008 including Senior Advisor, and Chief Administrative Officer.
Mr. Brandow has more than 40 years of experience in financial services, coming to E*TRADE from JPMorgan Chase, where he last served as President, JPMorgan Securities Inc. In this role he was responsible for all operating activities of the broker-dealer and represented the firm in its relationships with regulators.
Mr. Brandow also served as Chief Operating Officer of JPMorgan Investment Bank, Americas, of JPMorgan Global Institutional Equities and of Chase Global Markets. Prior to these appointments, he held a series of international leadership positions with Chase Manhattan Bank in Europe, South America and Asia.
He earned an MBA from Harvard University and a BA from Hamilton College. He holds a Series 7 and Series 24. Mr. Brandow serves on the Boards of the University Settlement Society and The Door, two New York based social services organizations.
Michael J. Curcio
As Executive Vice President, Institutional, and Vice-Chairman of the Executive Committee, Michael Curcio oversees E*TRADE’s Corporate and Advisor services, including the award-winning Equity Edge Online and Liberty platforms, along with E*TRADE’s RIA referral network.
Prior to E*TRADE, Mr. Curcio was the CEO of Aperture Group, LLC, the parent company of OptionsHouse. A respected veteran of the online brokerage industry, he has a 25-year track record of releasing award-winning products, implementing client retention strategies, and building cross-functional teams. Before joining Aperture Group and OptionsHouse, Mr. Curcio spent 11 years at E*TRADE, last serving as the head of the Company’s brokerage business, in addition to the corporate services and market making channels. Prior to E*TRADE, Mr. Curcio spent 15 years at TD Waterhouse, last serving as EVP of Customer Relationship Management.
Mr. Curcio received a BS in Business from the State University of New York, at Plattsburgh. He previously served on the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX), now NASDAQ OMX PHLX.
Michael A. Pizzi
As Chief Operating Officer, Michael Pizzi is responsible for all operations, finance, and technology functions for E*TRADE Financial. Mr. Pizzi has been with E*TRADE since 2003 and has served in several executive roles including the Company’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer. Prior to these he served in a variety of leadership positions including the Corporate and bank Treasurer where he was responsible for all portfolio, capital and liquidity management. He also previously held various positions in E*TRADE’s portfolio management and derivatives functions.
Before joining E*TRADE, Mr. Pizzi worked in asset/liability management at both Lehman Brothers and First Maryland Bank, as well as in capital markets research for the Federal Reserve Board.
Mr. Pizzi earned a BA in Economics from Ursinus College, is a CFA charterholder, and holds the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation.
Lori S. Sher
As General Counsel of E*TRADE Financial Corporation and Corporate Secretary of its Board of Directors, Ms. Sher oversees the legal function for the Company and its bank and brokerage subsidiaries. Additionally, Ms. Sher has oversight of the Human Resources function at E*TRADE, which is responsible for talent management, compensation and benefits, diversity and inclusion, and employee engagement. Ms. Sher has depth of experience in many disciplines, including board advisory, corporate securities, corporate governance, M&A and financings, executive compensation, and cybersecurity.
Ms. Sher has been with E*TRADE since 2005 and most recently served as the Company’s Deputy General Counsel. Prior to joining E*TRADE, Ms. Sher was an associate in the corporate practice group of the international law firm, Holland & Knight LLP where her practice focused on advising technology companies on M&A and general corporate matters.
Ms. Sher earned her BA from Emory University, her MS from American University, and her JD cum laude from Tulane Law School.
Lance M. Braunstein
As Chief Information Officer, Mr. Braunstein is responsible for developing and implementing E*TRADE’s overarching technology strategy. Lance leads a team of technologists that drive software development, system architecture, and production support.
Prior to E*TRADE, Mr. Braunstein was the Chief Information Officer of Aperture Group, LLC, the parent company of OptionsHouse before its purchase by E*TRADE in 2016. Prior to Aperture Group, Mr. Braunstein spent seven years at Goldman Sachs, most recently as the Head of Client Platforms and Banking Technology. Prior to these appointments, Mr. Braunstein spent 10 years with Morgan Stanley where he was responsible for infrastructure and development organizations in Wealth Management.
Mr. Braunstein earned his BA in mathematics from The University of Rochester, an MS in atmospheric science from Colorado State University, and an MBA in finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a technical advisor to Grand Central Technology and previously served on the board of directors of The Bridge, Earth Day Network, and The Bushwick Starr.
As Chief Human Resources Officer, Ms. DeSimone oversees E*TRADE’s enterprise-wide Human Resources function.
Ms. DeSimone brings a 30-year track record leading complex HR initiatives and driving large-scale business strategies. Prior to E*TRADE, Ms. DeSimone founded and ran her consulting firm, Glory DeSimone & Associates. In this capacity she served clients ranging from small, high-growth companies to the Fortune 100, across a range of industries including financial services, professional services, industrial, and healthcare.
Prior to this role, she served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., and previously served at JPMorgan Chase, holding HR leadership roles in Investment Banking and Corporate HR functions.
Ms. DeSimone earned her BA from Douglass College of Rutgers University and her MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
As Senior Vice President of Web, Mobile, and Investing at E*TRADE, Ms. Fleming leads the transformation of digital product management, user experience, and design functions for E*TRADE’s retail platforms.
Ms. Fleming is a veteran of the Chicago technology community with a proven track record in driving transformative results for both startups and well-established corporate cultures—from leading several mergers, integrations, and new business launches to driving digital and mobile strategies and major product releases. Prior to her current role, Ms. Fleming was the Chief People Officer at OptionsHouse, a brokerage firm acquired by E*TRADE in 2016. Ms. Fleming has also held roles as General Manager and a founding member of the management team at PowerReviews and Senior Vice President of Organizational Development at Q Interactive, a Landmark Communication company. Earlier in her career, Ms. Fleming was a management consultant at CSC Index where she focused on market strategy, process redesign, and change management initiatives for Fortune 500 companies.
Ms. Fleming earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University.
Brett H. Goodman
As Chief Communications Officer, Mr. Goodman is responsible for executive and corporate interactions with the Company’s most important public and internal constituencies, including its owners, employees, media, analysts, and rating agencies. He serves as the Company’s lead representative on reputational risk, Investor Relations, crisis communications, and disclosure practices, and is a key resource to the Board of Directors.
An E*TRADE veteran, Mr. Goodman joined the Company in 2005. Having steadily expanded his scope of responsibilities, he took charge of the Investor Relations function in 2008, Corporate Communications in 2013 and Corporate Events in 2015.
Mr. Goodman received recognition for excellence in investor relations in 2017, 2015 and 2012, voted one of America’s Best IR Professionals in Institutional Investor Magazine’s annual survey. He studied at Fort Lewis College, in Durango, Colorado, holds a FINRA Series 7 license, and is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI).
As Chief Operations Officer, David Inggs oversees all aspects of the Operations function including Securities Lending, Risk, Fraud Detection, Trade and Position Services, Advisory Services, Cost Basis and Tax, Margin, Account Services and Maintenance, Business Administration, and Reporting and Analysis.
Prior to joining E*TRADE, Mr. Inggs served at Goldman Sachs, where he was the Managing Director and Global Head of Operations for Derivative Prime Brokerage, Futures & Options, Execution & Clearing, and Prime Brokerage. Prior to Goldman, he was an Executive Director in Loans and Derivative Operations at Morgan Stanley. Prior to this role he held several positions across Whole Loan, Fixed Income, Rate Swap, Credit Derivative, Collateral, and Management Analysis and Planning Operations.
Mr. Inggs received a BA and MA in Commerce from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
Christopher Larkin, Senior Vice President of Trading, is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of retail trading for equities, options, and futures at E*TRADE. Leveraging more than 25 years of experience delivering retail and institutional brokerage services, Mr. Larkin oversees the E*TRADE trading team to deliver innovative and relevant products, tools, and services to the Company's self-directed retail trading customer base.
Mr. Larkin has been instrumental in enhancing the customer experience, expanding capabilities on the Power E*TRADE platform and building the company's options offering from the ground up, resulting in increasing options as a percentage of daily average revenue to almost 30 percent in 2017. Mr. Larkin also contributed to the introduction of innovative new product and service offerings including E*TRADE Mobile, E*TRADE Pro, ETRADE’s Global Trading Platform, and the E*TRADE Complete™ Investment Account.
Prior to his tenure at E*TRADE, Mr. Larkin served as Managing Director of Corporate Services and Fixed Income Sales at TD Ameritrade. There he led the TD Bank relationship and referral program and delivered designated brokerage and stock plan services to more than 1,500 corporate clients. Mr. Larkin also served as the Vice President at Datek Online, where he helped grow their online brokerage business and held institutional sales and trading positions with ING Barings and Bloomberg LP.
Mr. Larkin holds series 3, 7, 8, 24, and 63 licenses, and is a member of the SIFMA Options Committee. He also serves on the Customer Advisory Board for all major option exchanges. He earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Villanova University.
As Senior Vice President of Retail Brokerage, Mike Murphy leads E*TRADE’s efforts to deepen and broaden customer relationships across the firm’s network of professionals.
With a career spanning almost 30 years in financial services, Mr. Murphy has held senior leadership roles in customer relationship management, segmentation, strategic planning, and branch management. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of Retail Strategy & Operations at TD Ameritrade. Preceding this position, Mr. Murphy was the SVP of Relationship Management and Client Service during an earlier tenure at E*TRADE. Mr. Murphy began his career at Waterhouse Investor Services.
Mr. Murphy received a BA in Business Economics from the State University of New York at Oneonta and holds Series 7, 8, 24, and 63 licenses.
Chad E. Turner
As Chief Financial Officer, Chad Turner is responsible for all finance and accounting functions for E*TRADE Financial, including financial reporting, planning, tax, and treasury. An E*TRADE veteran with nearly two decades in leadership roles in finance and beyond, Mr. Turner previously served as head of financial planning and analysis, overseeing the forecasting and performance analysis functions that drive the Company’s strategic direction. Prior to this role Mr. Turner served as Vice President, accounting, with experience in all areas of finance including acquisition integration, treasury, risk management, modeling, and due diligence.
Prior to joining E*TRADE, Mr. Turner served as Controller for Verestar, Inc. where he oversaw worldwide accounting, reporting, tax, and treasury functions with responsibility for all financial audit requirements and technical research. Mr. Turner started his career in public accounting at Arthur Andersen, and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Georgetown University. He holds a Certified Public Accountant designation.
